Technical Support: Installing and Running Hyperterminal

Instructions for Installing Hyperterminal (You must have your Windows 05/98 CD-Rom):

  1. Double click on the MY COMPUTER icon
  2. Double click on the CONTROL PANEL icon
  3. Double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon
  4. Click on the WINDOWS SETUP tab
  5. Double click on COMMUNICATIONS
  6. Ensure that the box next to HYPER TERMINAL is checked. (if the box is checked, skip step 8, If it is not checked, click inside the box now.)
  7. Click OK
  8. Follow the on-screen prompts to install hyper terminal
  9. Determine the System you are going to program and download the appropriate Hyperterminal Configuration file.

    * DXP, DSU II
    * DSU, System 2000

  10. Double click on file "DXP-DSUII.ht" or "DSU-System 2000.ht" after download
  11. Hit enter to begin your Hyperterminal session
